LGBTQIA+ Dog Photography in Perth: Your Family Belongs in the Frame

Your dog has been there through the good days, the hard days and everything in between.

They’re part of your family. And when you look back at the photographs you have of them, you deserve to see more than a collection of blurry phone photos and screenshots buried in your camera roll.

You deserve photographs that show your life together.

At Haggie Snaps, every dog and every family is welcome. I’m an LGBTQIA+ run Perth dog photography business and I want you to feel completely comfortable being yourselves in front of my camera.

Your family doesn't have to look a certain way

There isn't one definition of what a family looks like.

Maybe you're a couple with your dog. Maybe you're two mums, two dads or a queer couple who considers your dog an important part of your family. Maybe you're a solo dog parent, part of a chosen family or building a family that looks completely different from the one you grew up with.

Your family deserves to be photographed just as it is.

Haggie Snaps is a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ families, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and non-binary people. You don't need to explain who you are or make yourself smaller to feel comfortable here.

You can simply show up with your dog and be yourselves.

Finding photographers who feel genuinely comfortable and inclusive can sometimes be harder than it should be.

If you're transgender or non-binary, I want you to know that you're welcome at Haggie Snaps.

Your name, pronouns and identity will be respected and I'll never make assumptions about what your family should look like. Whether you want photographs of yourself with your dog, photographs with your partner or a full family session, the focus is on the people and dogs you love.

The same goes for couples and families across the LGBTQIA+ community.

You don't have to fit a traditional idea of a family to deserve beautiful photographs of yours.

Your dog doesn't have to be perfect either

Being inclusive isn't just about the humans in front of my camera.

Some dogs are nervous around new people. Some are uncomfortable around other dogs. Some are reactive, fearful or anxious. Some need a little more space and time before they feel comfortable.

And that's something I understand personally and professionally.

I'm an IMDT-certified dog trainer specialising in dog reactivity, so I have experience working with dogs who don't always find the world easy to navigate.

That means your dog doesn't have to be perfectly behaved for their photography session.

I won't expect them to immediately love me, sit perfectly still or ignore everything happening around them. We'll work with who your dog actually is and make choices that help them feel comfortable.

A relaxed approach to dog photography

My sessions are outdoors and relaxed, with plenty of room to let your dog be themselves.

Rather than forcing your dog into a series of poses, I'll look for the little moments that show their personality and your relationship with them.

The way they look at you. The way they run towards you. The ridiculous things they do when they're excited. The quiet moments when they're sitting beside you.

You don't have to be comfortable in front of the camera

And honestly, most people aren't.

You don't need to know how to pose or worry about whether you're "photogenic". I'll guide you through the session while keeping things relaxed and natural.

You can cuddle your dog, walk together, play, explore and just spend time with them.
