Water Minis at Lake Gnangara 💦

Sunset. Water. Your dog having the absolute time of their life.


For three days only (for now!), I’m bringing back my Water Minis at Lake Gnangara.


These are 60-minute small group sessions for 3 to 4 dogs, designed to capture those brilliant, messy, joyful moments when your dog gets to run, splash and play in the water as the sun starts to set.


And the best part? Your dog does not need to be perfectly trained or reliable off lead.

How the Water Mini works


These are small group sessions but your dog gets their own individual turns in front of the camera.

The group will arrive together and we’ll walk down to the location.


We’ll start on the sand, where I’ll photograph each dog individually running and chasing a toy. Each dog gets a few turns so we have plenty of chances to capture those big, happy action shots.

Once everyone has had a go on the sand, we’ll head down into the lake together.


From there, we’ll rotate through the dogs again - giving each one a few turns in the water while I capture all the splashing, running and toy snatching.

We’ll keep working through the dogs as the light gets softer so we can make the most of that beautiful pre-sunset glow.

our dog does NOT need to be off lead


This is important.

Your dog can stay on a long line when needed. They do not need a perfect recall and they don't need to be comfortable running loose around other dogs.

I’ll work with you to get the action shots while keeping your dog safe and comfortable.


Because these are group sessions, they are only suitable for social dogs who are comfortable being around other dogs.

Have a reactive dog?


Please don't book a regular Water Mini for them.

Instead please fill out the Expression of Interest form below and I’ll be in touch about a separate reactive-dog-friendly water session.

These sessions will be set up differently, with dogs kept completely separate from each other and I’ll have the help of a local trainer to make the session as safe and relaxed as possible.

This is the same kind of setup I offered last year.

What’s included for $190?


Your Water Mini includes:

  • 3 professionally edited images of your dog
  • I will go through the images after the session and personally select my 5 favourite photos of your dog to edit and include in your gallery.

You don't have to choose your five images on the day.

  • Once your gallery is ready, you'll also be able to purchase additional edited images for $25 each if there are more moments you absolutely love.

What your dog needs to be comfortable with


Your dog should be:

Comfortable being around other social dogs

  • Comfortable around water
  • Happy to move around on a long line if needed
  • Comfortable chasing a toy or moving around on the sand

They do not need to be able to swim.

  • The water is shallow, although if you have a very small dog, please get in touch first. Depending on their size and the water level on the dates available, I may recommend a later date when the lake is even shallower.

Please don't forget the mud 😂


We are heading into the lake, so you will get muddy.

Please come prepared with:

  • Towels
  • Plenty of treats
  • Your dog's favourite water toy
  • A long line
  • Gumboots or shoes you don't mind getting wet and muddy

One dog per person


The $190 price is per dog.

You're welcome to bring multiple dogs from the same family, but you'll need one person per dog so that each dog can have their own turn and everyone stays safe and organised.

Have three or four dogs?

I'd actually recommend booking one of my regular relaxed dog photography sessions instead. You'll have much more time and flexibility to photograph all of your dogs together without the restrictions of a group mini session.

These sessions are as usual limited


There will only be 3 to 4 dogs in each group, and I'm only offering Water Minis on:

Friday 30 October

Saturday 31 October

Sunday 1 November


If these are in high demand, I might add more session beginning of November but as water levels are not as high as last year, I am predicting, that we won't be able to run as many of them this year!


What happens if the weather isn't suitable?


If the weather or conditions aren't suitable for the session we'll reschedule.

I'll keep an eye on the conditions and make the call with everyone's safety and the quality of the photos in mind.
