You only have one chance to freeze those little puppy moments in time!

Bringing home a puppy is chaos, cuddles, sharp teeth, zoomies and the kind of love that flips your world upside down.

And it goes fast.

If you are looking for a puppy photoshoot in Perth, you are probably already realising how quickly your puppy is changing. The floppy ears that are slowly changing shape and the oversized paws that they are growing into. In a few short months, it will all be different.

I specialise in relaxed, personality-led puppy photography in Perth that captures this stage exactly as it is. Playful and a little wild making those moments unforgettable.

A Puppy Photographer in Perth Who Understands Dogs

Hi, I’m Linds, the photographer behind Haggie Snaps Photography.

Before I was photographing dogs & puppies across Perth, I was deep in the world of dog behaviour and training.

Learning how dogs think, what stresses them, what excites them and how they communicate completely changed the way I see them. That experience shapes every session I run today.

Puppies are not tiny, perfectly behaved adults. They get distracted by a leaf blowing past or they suddenly need a nap mid-zoomie. They can become overwhelmed just as quickly as they become excited. Expecting them to follow a strict plan or pose on cue simply is not realistic and honestly, it is not where the best photos come from anyway.

Your puppy photoshoot in Perth is designed around your puppy’s personality and energy on the day. We take breaks when they need them, we turn moments into games, and we allow space for curiosity and movement. Instead of forcing poses, I focus on capturing genuine expressions, playful interactions, and the natural connection between you and your pup.

When Is the Best Time for Puppy Photography?

One of the most common questions I get is when to book a puppy photoshoot and the honest answer is that it depends on what you want to remember and what you are comfortable with.

If you are hoping to capture that tiny, round-bellied stage with oversized paws and slightly clumsy movement, then somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks is often ideal. They still have that unmistakable “baby” look, and every expression feels new.

If you prefer a session outdoors at a specific nature location I recommend having your shoot between 15 and 18 weeks of age when they are fully vaccinated and can go all the places. (As you might handle this differently and take you own puppy out a lot earlier for socialisation, I am always happy to tag along and have an outdoor session with you outside of your garden earlier than when their full vaccination kicks in.)

That said, there is no single perfect age. Some clients choose to document the entire first year, booking a session when their puppy first comes home, another at six months when confidence is building, and a final session at one year to celebrate surviving puppyhood - I build a specific package for this, so you're locked in for all life stages!

If you are unsure, reach out and tell me a little about your pup. I will always give you honest advice about timing rather than pushing you to book something that does not suit your goals.

Why Invest in a Professional Puppy Photographer in Perth?

Your camera roll is probably already full, and it should be. Puppyhood deserves to be documented.

But professional puppy photography in Perth offers something different. It gives you images where you are in the frame as well, not just behind the phone. It captures movement sharply, even when your puppy is racing toward you at full speed. It turns fleeting stages into artwork that can live on your walls and social media.

Puppyhood can be loud, chaotic and exhausting. In the middle of toilet training and chewed furniture, it can be hard to notice how quickly they are growing. A dedicated photo session gives you space to step back and appreciate who they are right now.

And one day, you will be incredibly grateful you did.
